HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful, safe, fun-filled Halloween! I know I did. My Halloween started a little earlier than usual. I helped my church with their Trunk-or-Treat event last Friday, so my Halloween started 2 days early haha. It was so much fun! My friends and I attacked each other and everyone else with silly string, we performed the "Time Warp" from The Rock Horror Picture Show for everyone 3 times, and we even got to go trick-or-treating at the trunks too :) But after the night was over, my feet were killin me! I was wearing 2 1/2 inch heels, and after running all over the church parking lot with silly string and doing the time warp 3 times, my feet had HAD it! Haha. This year, I dressed up as Frenchie, from the movie "Grease". My costume was definitely a big hit! Everyone loved it.
I had been saying since last Halloween that I was just gonna stay home and hand out candy, but as soon as Party City released their Halloween costumes, all I could think about was trick-or-treating! I started trying to figure out what to dress up as back in August, and I had compiled a heeuuugggeee list of costumes I wanted to try on. Needless to say, I did not get to try on every costume on that list! I didn't even get my costume til 2 days before Halloween. I had been kinda lazy about it, haha. I had decided that I wanted to go as David Archuleta's wife. I was gonna get an old wedding dress and veil, put bunches of purple and yellow stuff all over my body, and carry a picture of David with me. But we couldn't find anything at all for that costume, so that idea went out the window :( The Frenchie costume hadn't even entered my mind until my mom and I went to Party City to get my costume. They really didn't have half as big of a costume selection in the store as they did online. It was such a madhouse there that day too. People were running around everywhere! I tried on a few of the costumes from their big wall of costumes, but none of them worked. I was just about to give up and go home to make my own costume, when we saw the Frenchie costume hanging in one of the aisles. It was absolutely perfect for me, not only because of all the pink, but also because I love Grease, and I love the 50's! So I tried on the jacket and wig in the aisle, and when they fit perfectly, we decided to buy it. I had to go home and promptly start getting ready for Trunk or Treat, because I was supposed to be at the church by 6, and when we got home it was 5:30, and it takes me 15 minutes to get to church! I didn't make it to church until 6:30... I'm a slow-poke, hahaha. So after Trunk or Treat, I had a nice haul of candy to hold me over until trick-or-treating on Halloween night.
Then, on Halloween, I got all excited to go trick-or-treating :) I felt like a little kid again, standing there in my living room with my costume on bouncing like crazy while waiting for my mom to finish getting ready to go. We have always gone to this one neighborhood about 7 minutes from my house ever since I was an itty-bitty kid, but we used to go with my cousins then. Now it's just me and my mom. When I was little, every house in the whole neighborhood had their porch light on, and this year, it was very hard to find a house with a porch light on! That neighborhood sure has changed in 10 years. Even though there wasn't many houses to go to, I still ended up with a half a bag of candy. Instead of using the traditional pumpkin bucket, I used an old Victoria's Secret bag from my birthday last year, haha. Not your usual pick for trick-or-treating, but hey, I'm a big girl now! And plus, the bag matched my costume. One of the houses I went to, the guy was like "You a little big to be trick-or-treating ain't ya?". I replied, "You're never to big for free candy!". He was like "I know that's right.". At another house, I was asked if I was dressed as Paris Hilton... then another guy thought I was dressed as Minnie Mouse! Hasn't anybody seen Grease? I can sort of understand Paris Hilton, but Minnie Mouse? Really?
But all in all, it was an awesome Halloween. I got lots of candy, and had lots of fun, and that's all that really matters.
What did y'all dress up as? I'd love to see pictures! Comment and let me know what y'all dressed up as.
                                                        Until next time...
